My philosophy as a designer is “look good, feel good”. I aim for comfort and confidence. I like to create garments that strengthen one’s confidence. I prefer basic silhouettes in bold and glamorous materials.  My vision for this line was based on Prince song titles – Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, Diamonds and Pearls, and Party Like it’s 1999. I created white tailored looks paired with luxurious charmeuse for the blouses and incorporated beautiful lace fabrics, appliques and beaded jewelry to finish the looks.

LaShaumbay’s Mother named her after the iconic designer Coco Chanel. She was inspired by Chanel because Chanel was creative, successful, and a trendsetter. She hoped someday her daughter would be successful as well. LaShaumbay began her journey at Minneapolis College in the Fall of 2012. This was also the first time she ever used a sewing machine.        LaShaumbay is currently the Office Administrator for a custom casket company. Prior to this position she worked for a company making custom leather motorcycle seats and accessories. Lashaumbay’s skills include Fashion Design, Business, and Accounting.
