Tonya Yarwood
I wanted my collection to be ethically designed. I chose to work with vintage linens, lace and repurposed textiles. The inspiration for my line comes from the prairies of the Midwest and its pioneering spirit as well as my love for mid-century modern design. I believe in that a sustainable fashion industry is necessary and I am doing what I can to support ethical, sustainable fashion.
Tonya Yarwood has over 30 years of informal training in sewing and needlework. She decided to advance her skills for the Apparel and Textile industries by obtaining formal training. Tonya is completing her Associates degree in Apparel Technologies. Tonya has had the opportunity to participate in several regional fashion shows. In October 2019 Tonya placed first place in the Purple Ones Fashion show (a fashion show inspired by the music of Prince), for her look inspired by Prince’s “Beautiful Ones”.
