I like to call myself not just a fashion designer but an artist as well, as I aspire to create garments that have a hint of elegance, edginess, and a splash of boldness. I feel that my duty as a fashion designer and artist is to help others feel confident in their bodies and who they are as an individual. I tend to get my inspirations from streetwear and traditional clothing. I strive to mesh tradition with modernism – we cannot forget where we once came from and also strive to move forward.  

Suney Yang is a first-generation college student chasing after her “American Dream”. She is enrolled in the Apparel Technologies program at Minneapolis College and will be graduating this spring.
